In a recent student survey conducted on campus, students highlighted the reasons they chose to attend the college. Popular responses mentioned the convenience and beauty of the campus location, the friendly staff and instructors, availability of programs, and the low cost of tuition.

"I felt welcome when I came to ask for information," was one student's response when asked to identify what factors influenced their decision to attend Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. "Everyone was friendly to me, holding doors, saying ‘Good morning,' and smiling. I felt great."

Another student agreed, writing "When I came to inquire about attending, the people who helped me knew exactly what needed to be done to get me in, and they were so friendly in doing so."

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College offers several advantages to students. The student-to-instructor ratio is about 18 to 1. Students say they are treated as individuals, not numbers, and don't get lost in the crowd. Classes are offered during day, evening, and weekend hours, making it easy to fit classes into a busy schedule.

Recent accomplishments include the construction of a $7.5 million academic building expansion, the addition of new degree programs in Environmental Science, E-Crime and Computer Security, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Nutrition, Electric Utility Technology, and Early Childhood Development, and an impressive increase in student enrollment during recent years.

student works intently on computerMore than 2,000 students enroll in classes each semester, but the college is still able to maintain its friendly, comfortable atmosphere. The cost of tuition is among the most affordable in the state.

The campus facility is unlike any other college campus. Buildings are nestled in a beautiful setting of majestic red pines. The architecture is stunning, meaningful, and functional. New students say other students, faculty, and staff members have a way of making each other feel at home.

Adding an attractive element to the campus is the unique residence hall. The 100-bed complex offers apartment-style living with safe, quiet, and affordable, furnished living areas. Students who currently live in the facility enjoy residence hall life.

Students find it easy to get involved in the many different campus organizations. Doors are always open to new members and new participation. With a wide variety of clubs, there's usually something for everyone.

Many students take classes at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College to get a good start in college and save money, and then transfer to complete a bachelor's degree at a four-year institution. Credits earned at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College transfer to other colleges and universities, and many students transfer easily to UMD, UWS, and the College of St. Scholastica, as well as many other colleges and universities.
