Although Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College receives assistance from the State of Minnesota, the funding formula is not adequate to meet the need. A common misconception is that Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College is funded by the profits and income of the gaming enterprises owned by the Fond du Lac Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa. While the Reservation Business Committee (the governing body of the Fond du Lac Reservation) supports the college in many different ways, there are still many unmet needs for our students, programs and facilities.
Philanthropic support is needed to:
- Develop new programs
- Add to the Ruth A. Meyers Library collection
- Fund student scholarships
- Provide services to meet the special needs of students with disabilities
- Purchase state-of-the-art technology
- Replace outdated equipment
- Strengthen existing programs
With needs such as these, it is impossible to fund it all ourselves. We are in a position that demands the cultivation of outside resources for financial support that will allow Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College to continue to meet all of those needs.
